The Society of Women Artists also have a Facebook page - Society of Women Artists Here is my most recent painting 'Lila Pearl - Baker Girl'.
I have just stumbled on this pencil study of Lila Pearl I drew of her when she was two years old. I thought I would share it on here instead of it being hidden away in my sketch book. I remember it took me one evening to do, so very loose for me as it takes me months to paint a painting. There's something I just love about this though....
Here is my husbands painting which is now on 'Your Paintings'. It is supposed to be seen as a whole painting though (like below), not as three individual ones....
http://www.bbc.co.uk/arts/yourpaintings/paintings/gathering-of-the-skeptics-123540 I have just finished a private commission for a surprise 40th Birthday present. It was a great project to work on and loved painting every minute of it.
Thank you to Crystal for giving me permission to add this to my website...... I am currently working on private commissions until the New Year......
I have just finished my largest painting yet, it is another one of my daughter age three. She will be four soon and thought it would be good to paint one every year, already she has changed so much. I have decided to keep it for the new year to show on my website, so here is a tiny preview from it....
I thought it would be good to share this painting my Mum has just finished of Ernie, my Nan's partner....
Sadly since adding my Mum's portrait of Ernie, he has passed away. I saw him a week before he died and he told me how he loved his portrait and said my Mum had captured him perfectly in every way. He was such a wonderful man and so full of happiness and always laughing, he will be truly missed. R.I.P Ernie... Jean Penna: 'Dear Ernie died shortly after seeing my portrait of him - no, it wasn't through seeing my portrait, he loved it, said it spoke to him. R.I.P. Ernie - February 7th 1924 - November 13th 2011.' |
